Honeywell takes proactive steps to combat supply chain issues

Renovotec partner Honeywell is taking steps to address supply chain issues affecting some of its operations and products.

The rapid expansion of the AI industry has significantly impacted supply chains, with manufacturers of memory modules redirecting capacity to meet demand across AI data centres.

This has resulted in supply constraints for memory components used in mobile devices, with the entire mobile device and smartphone industry experiencing difficulties sourcing adequate supplies of LPDDR4 and LPDDR5 RAM modules.

This shortage is impacting the production of several of Honeywell’s key mobile computer solutions.

In response to this situation, Honeywell has taken proactive steps to address the supply chain issues, including:

  • Identifying available alternative sources
  • Engaging with C-level contacts at manufacturers to secure support and supply of memory modules
  • Actively qualifying new memory modules and evaluating redesign options as they become available

This challenge is not unique to Honeywell and is impacting production across the entire industry. As a result of the constrained supply of memory modules, Honeywell is adjusting the pricing for some of its products as of March 2026.

A spokesperson for Honeywell said, “Honeywell PSS remains committed to providing the highest-quality mobile computer solutions at competitive pricing. We appreciate your understanding of this adjustment as we strive to maintain the quality and service you have come to expect from Honeywell PSS.

“We are dedicated to remaining as transparent as possible as we implement pricing actions.”
